Over the last few years, we have delegated some of our tasks to our mobile devices, such as ordering food, looking up directions, making calls, etc. Some users with more intensive use let the cell phone organize their activities.

With the increase in Internet use, new threats have also emerged, reorienting countries’ security strategies to a new dimension: cyberspace. Protecting critical digital assets is now also necessary.
Cyber defense stands out as a crucial component in the realm of national defense. Here, the enemy is not a visible force but a potentially devastating. This invisible threat underscores the need for proactive and robust cyber defense strategies.

Cyber attacks are a real and anonymous threat. The number of cases that become news is less than the real cases. As online activity increases and the digitalization of public services increases, exposure to cyber-attack risks also increases.

According to Fortinet, during the first half of 2022, nearly 137 billion cyberattack attempts were recorded in Latam. These figures do not suggest that the path towards digitalization stops; on the contrary, they encourage multisectoral cyber defense and cybersecurity policies. Public institutions must invest in preventive measures that are part of the security-defense system to protect their assets, the trust of their clients, and business continuity.
