Today’s digital society presents different benefits, such as productivity and access to opportunities, but it also brings new challenges. The current relevance of digital resources and spaces has also turned them into a new vulnerability for users and cyberspace in general, changing traditional notions of security. Cybersecurity and cyberdefense are two fundamental pillars for navigating this new digital landscape. Cybersecurity focuses on protecting systems and data from cyber attacks, while cyberdefense is responsible for defending critical national infrastructures and assets and responding to cyberspace threats.
Both dimensions are key to ensuring security and trust in the digital world. Thus, research in these areas is essential to develop strategies tailored to specific needs, especially for “low-tech” countries, such as those in Latin America, which are particularly vulnerable due to a lack of resources, knowledge, and trained personnel. At Neurometrics, we recognize that delving into these new security dimensions is crucial to understanding technology’s current and future role in the world. That is why the Neurometrics team conducts research and projects to contribute to developing related literature.
