Terms of use
Introduction
This document includes the terms of use of the Neurometrics.la website and services (“Neurometrics”). You must also read our Privacy Policies, where we detail our information handling practices. The boxes included contain brief explanations of the Terms of Use, which in no way represent a legal contract.
Acceptance of the Terms
You must read, understand, and accept these Terms of Use (“Terms”) before accessing Neurometrics.la or any of its links (“the Site”). By accessing the Site, you are subject to these Terms, which—together with our Privacy Policies—govern our relationship with you. By accessing the Site, you agree that Neurometrics may use the information you share as established in our Privacy Policies at www.neurometrics.la.
You may not use our Services unless you have accepted the Terms and Privacy Policies, so please read them carefully.
Description of the Site
The Site is a virtual training and information platform for people interested in neuroscience and its relationship with market research. Within Neurometrics, users may enroll—both for a fee and free of charge—in online training courses, read the informational blog, and learn about consumer neuroscience.
On the Site, users may also purchase courses and enroll in free courses (“Services”). The Services include, but are not limited to, any content or service available or offered through Neurometrics, as well as any materials displayed, transmitted, or developed within the Site or through the Services. Content (“Content”) includes, but is not limited to, text, information, data, graphics, news, articles, photographs, videos, sounds, images, illustrations, and computer programs.
Access to the Site
At times, you may be unable to access the Site or your browsing may be interrupted due to equipment failures, updates, maintenance, or any other reason beyond Neurometrics’ control. Neurometrics reserves the right to suspend or discontinue the Site or any service and to remove any content at its discretion, at any time and without prior notice. It may also establish limits on certain features or services or restrict access to parts of the Site or the Services in general, without prior notice and without assuming any liability.
Registration
It may be necessary to create an account at Neurometrics website to use some of our services. To do so, you will be asked to create a username and password, as well as certain registration information. You must provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information. Not providing it constitues a violation of those Terms and Conditions and may result in inmediate account termination.
You may not use as username the name of another person or entity without proper authorization, nor a name or brand name belonging to another person or entity unless completely authorized, nor a username that misleads readers into believing you are another person or company, neither any name that is offensive, vulgar or obscene.
Users are responsible for safeguarding their login credentials and are solely responsible for any activity that occurs under their account. If users experience a security breach or identify any type of non-authroized action, they must notify Neurometrics inmediately. Neurometrics is not responsible for any act or omission by the user, including any resulting damages.
The services are intended exclusively for individuals over 17 years of age. Parents and legar tutors are informed that the site does not publish violent or nudity images that may offend some users. If the user is a company, the company accepts the conditions. Only a human being may create an account; account created by robots or automated methods are prohibited. You may access our service presentation pages anywhere in the world; however, this does not guarantee the availability of all our services or features in yout country or the user-generated content is legar in your place of residence. Neurometrics may restrict access to certain services (or features or content) in some countries. It is your responsibility as user to make sure that the services you contract are legal in your contry of residence. Not all services are available in all languages.
Fees
Neurometrics reserves the rights to change its fees or charges for services offered on the site (or begin charging for any previously free service), considering that fees paid prior to such changes will not be affected.
User Conduct
If you maintain an account, comment in forums or projects, post material or links, or otherwise submit any material (or allow a third party to do so) through the site, you are solely responsible for such Content and any damage resulting therefrom. Neurometrics does not control user-posted Content and therefore does not guarantee its accuracy, integrity, or quality. You understand that by accessing the Site you may be exposed to Content that may be offensive, indecent, or objectionable.
As a condition of use, you agree not to use the Services for any unlawful or prohibited purpose under these Terms or for any purpose unrelated to Neurometrics. By way of example, and without limitation, you agree not to use the Services to:
- Abuse, harass, threaten, impersonate, or intimidate any person.
- Post or transmit (or cause to be posted or transmitted) defamatory, obscene, pornographic, abusive, offensive, profane Content, or Content that infringes any intellectual property or other rights of any person.
- Use the Services for any purpose prohibited by applicable laws where the Services are used.
- Post or transmit (or cause to be posted or transmitted) communications or solicitations intended to obtain passwords, accounts, or private information from Neurometrics users.
- Generate or send unsolicited emails or “spam.”
- Create multiple accounts to vote for or against other users’ projects.
- Post Content for which you do not own the copyright, except in Forums where you may do so provided you credit the author and include a link to the source.
- Use robots, spiders, scrapers, or other automated means (excluding RSS feeds) to access the Site without written permission; or (i) impose an unreasonable or disproportionate load on our infrastructure; (ii) interfere with the proper functioning of the Site; or (iii) bypass measures used to prevent or restrict access.
- Artificially increase or manipulate votes or comments to give or receive money or any other compensation; or otherwise manipulate Service results.
- Advertise or solicit users to buy or sell products or services, or use information obtained from the Services to contact, advertise, solicit, or sell to another user without prior consent.
- Sell or transfer your profile.
- Use the Services as a generic image-hosting, advertising, or promotional service.
By sharing Content, you represent and warrant that:
- Its use does not violate any third-party proprietary rights, including copyright, patent, trademark, or trade secrets.
- If your employer owns rights to intellectual property you create, you have either obtained permission to share the Content or secured a waiver of rights.
- You will comply with any third-party licenses associated with the Content.
- The Content does not contain viruses, worms, malware, trojans, or other harmful code.
- You will use the Site and Services in accordance with Neurometrics’ Privacy Policies, these Terms, and applicable laws and regulations.

Neurometrics reserves the right to ban any user from its Services and to remove any Content (including projects, comments, messages, avatars, etc.) for any reason it deems necessary. Neurometrics also reserves the right, but not the obligation, to reject or remove Content or to terminate or deny access to the Site for any reason.
Neurometrics, without confining to any of the stated declarations or guarantees, has the right (nor the obligation) to:
- (1) reject or remove any type of content that, by its opinion, violates conditions or is considered harmful or unpleasant, or
- (2) cancel or prohibit site access to people or entities for whatever reason it deems appropiate.
You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users. Neurometrics reserves the right, but has no obligation, to monitor disputes between users.
Visitor Responsibilities
Neurometrics has not reviewed and cannot review all material posted on the Site and therefore cannot be responsible for its content, use, or effects. Neurometrics does not endorse posted material nor guarantee its accuracy or harmlessness. You are responsible for taking precautions to protect your computer from harmful content. The Site may contain offensive or inaccurate material or content that violates third-party rights. Neurometrics disclaims any liability for damages resulting from Site use or Content downloads.
If you encounter Content that is offensive but complies with the Terms, your sole remedy is to stop viewing it. If the Content violates the Terms, report it in detail to comunicaciones@neurometrics.la.
Special Rule for Students
By reserving a place in Neurometrics classes, you accept all terms and conditions, including the cancellation policy.
Classes are available only on scheduled dates.
You agree to follow reasonable rules set by instructors and not to interfere with classes or participants.
Classes are for educational purposes only and may not be used to copy materials or disrupt instruction.
Class Cancellation and Refunds
Students will receive a full refund if a class is canceled after registration but before the course begins.
Neurometrics will issue refunds upon written notice received at least 72 hours before the start of the class.
Neurometrics Intellectual Property
Neurometrics trademarks, logos, code samples, software, and other materials are protected by intellectual property laws. Access to the Site does not grant rights to these materials. Use without permission is prohibited.
Limitation of Liability
Neither Neurometrics nor its providers, under any case mentioned in this conditions, shall be liable for special, incidental, or consequential damages; costs of substitute services; loss or misuse of data; or amounts exceeding fees paid in the prior twelve (12) months, to the extent permitted by law.
Neurometrics either will be responsible for any failure or delay due to situations beyond its control. The previous will not be validated to the extent it is prohibited by law.
Changes
Neurometrics has the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of changes. New services or features will be published and subjected to these Terms.
